Painted pieces of muslin are folded and manipulated, then scanned and printed on raw canvas with a stringed edge and float mounted with pins on a white backer within vertical grain white oak. A self-taught artist, Molly Franken works with tactile art, channeling inspiration from nature to create abstract, expressive works in watercolor, ink, acrylic and mixed media.
