With its open mouth and playful expression, the Kay Bojesen Hippo has been a beloved design icon since 1955. Unlike Bojesen’s softer, rounded animals, its angular form exudes charm, strength, and warmth — almost as if it’s saying, “Trust me, I’ve got your back”. According to archives, Bojesen himself kept a grey Hippo on his desk. To mark its 70th anniversary, two special editions are crafted in FSC®-certified beechwood, painted in a true hippo-grey with a pink mouth. Available in 3.5" and the Liliput version measuring 2.4 inches", these handcrafted figurines bring a timeless, cozy touch to any space. Produced only in 2025, they make a unique gift for birthdays, graduations, weddings, and special milestones.
