Each piece is bench made by artisans using time honored techniques and the highest quality material available. Every piece of upholstery starts with environmentally sustainable hardwoods including poplar, acacia, and beech combined with plywood made from premium hardwoods. The joints are double doweled and blocked on each corner or feature precise mortise and tenon construction. JR Signature Upholstery uses heavy duty sinuous springs which are reinforced by horizontal metal tie rods that inhibit shifting and sagging. The springs are secured to the frame using padded clips and fasteners for reinforcement and durability. We have selected this premium spring system because it not only gives superior comfort and longevity to a sofa or chair, but also offers design flexibility that ranges from high legged modern styles to traditional skirted and plinth bases. Our loose seat cushions are made from high resiliency polyurethane foam that is encased in a quilted envelope filled with a feather blend and made from tight weave cotton ticking material. The envelope is channeled both horizontally and vertically to prevent the feathers from shifting, providing long lasting, luxurious, low maintenance comfort. Tight and tufted seats are made from high resiliency polyurethane foam topped with layers of fiber for softness and comfort. Back cushions are filled with a feather blend and are channeled horizontally to provide support and prevent shifting. Accent pillows are filled with a luxurious blend of 95% feathers and 5% down. Cleaning Instructions: Your John-Richard Furniture will give you many years of enjoyment provided it is looked after in the following manner. Keep the furniture out of direct sunlight since overexposure could change the color of the protective topcoat or cause colors to fade. John-Richard Furniture is meant for indoor use only and must be used or stored in a climate controlled environment. Avoid extremes of temperature and humidity. Do not place your furniture next to a heating or cooling vent. Clean your furniture with a soft, clean cloth. If this does not remove residue from the furniture you should moisten the cloth with water and gently wipe away the stain. Dry with a soft cloth to remove moisture. Under no circumstances should you use a solvent to clean your furniture. Solvents such as alcohol, thinner, nail polish remover etc. will all degrade the topcoat thereby leaving your furniture unprotected. If a stain or residue cannot be removed in the above fashion, please contact a professional furniture finisher to assist you. Do not use solvents or abrasives on the metal bases, handles drawer pulls etc. Do not put lamps, accessories, sculptures etc. directly on top of your furniture. Use protective pads on the bottom of the decorative item to avoid scratching the surface. Decorative hardware should be cleaned in the same way as the rest of the furniture.
